SpringRain Summer Solstice Super Sleepover Sunrise Slumber Party!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, it's been pretty crazy getting ready for the ride down the coast but here are some updates! Last night was the summer solstice which Alex and I celebrated at Springrain farm in nearby Chimacum. We rode over after dinner and drank Twilight from Deschutes (highly recommended) while the sun set and then after a hot tub/river dunk we threw out our sleeping bags under the stars. We woke up to an amazing sunrise and fresh raspberries right off the bush. It was a great start to the summer. Moving backwards, last weekend Alex and I got hooked by PT brewing company to pour at the Washington brewers fest. We rode then ferry then rode from PT to our friend Mark's place on Friday for some good ol Boulder reunion action. Saturday morning we rode to the fest in Marymoor park south of Seattle in Redmond. We had only talked to the sales manager on the phone and all we knew was that we had a free ticket for Sat and we were pouring on Sunday. We showed up at the park in our sweaty bike jerseys but we must have sounded official because we talked to some at a back gate and he pointed us to a tent. At the tent we must have sounded even more official because we said we were here to work for PT brewing and even though we weren't on the list we were added and given bracelets and badges. Next thing we know we're in the brewers lounge eating all the burgers and brats we can manage and drinking beer. We found Ken and realized he had notified some people that he had +2 for PT but we sure felt like we were rock stars! For the rest of the day we sampled WA's finest. We stayed at place we found on warmshowers website, specially for bike tourists, and spent all Sunday pouring beer and tapping kegs. It was a blast. Sunday night we decided we should get back to the farm so we rode from 7pm till about 3am in the pouring rain but with beaming smiles from such a fun weekend. Now I'm getting ready to head to the non-profit bike shop in PT called the ReCyclery to log some wrenching hours and do a few last minor tweaks on my own ride (big red) before my tour down the coast. I'll be leaving in less than a week! pictures soon of big red, the ride to the brew fest, and fun!
